At Salem, we have long believed that missions are vitally important to the life and health of the church. Jesus Christ challenged the newly forming church with these words:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Our missions program is significant in scope, especially for a church our size. We support many individual missionaries worldwide, and missionary organizations with our “Faith Promise” missions giving budget. We also encourage hands-on mission work by church members at these levels:
Local Mission
Salvation Army (food preparation, bell ringing, etc.)
Migrant Workers (annual picnic)
Adopt a Family (Thanksgiving & Christmas Outreach)
Rhodes Grove Camp (construction of facilities at Christian campground)
Regional Mission
Kentucky Mission (delivering food and clothing)
International Mission
Belize (hands on support of a Christian orphanage)
Jamaica (serving in a Christian School)
Haiti (bringing relief and hope to the poorest of the poor)
